I am a freelance journalist and writer, since 2016 I have been based in Italy covering a wide range of topics from my home in the centre of Rome. In London, I started my career in promoting the preservation of important architecture and better urban planning, working with the Twentieth Century Society, Save Britain’s Heritage and then the Royal Institute of British Architects.
From 2011 I spent 5 years working on the editorial floor of multimedia brand Monocle. Having worked across all content including a long stint producing radio shows for Monocle 24, (including “The Stack” and “Monocle on Design” podcasts) my attention focused back to the printed page becoming Monocle’s Design Correspondent. Since 2015 I have been Monocle’s Rome Correspondent.
In May 2020 furniture brand B&B Italia launched The Couch - Conversations on Design, a podcast I devised, produced and presented, guests include trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort and designer Philippe Starck. 2019 saw the launch of the Architecture & Anthropocene podcast which I also produced and presented for the Triennale di Milano.
Working on radio, editorial, advertorial and copywriting commissions; including: Kinfolk, PIN-UP, as well as New York Times, The Guardian and, in 2018 fashion house Valentino; I have developed a very eclectic approach to the written word and content creation. From fashion directors to architects, long interviews and features should always be opportunities for discovery on the part of the reader, the listener - and for myself.
